2023 Events

There are lots of activities set up in County for you to just pick up and try. Add a few to your 2023 programme. Check out the list that shows where they can overlap with UMA’s , Skills Builders and Badges. All the information is on the County Webb site under Member Support, Resources, Challenge Badges & County Partnerships.

Shuttleworth Quest –  £8.50 per girl , 1 free adult per 5 girls. Extra adults £15 head. Badge £1.  Full day. This is a great day and well worth the cost. 

Wrest Park Quest – Free.  Badge £2 (which covers the site costs as well). The Quest was updated Autumn 2022. Book a visit and enjoy the new activities. Full day

Whipsnade Challenge – Free to do. Is done remote ( no visit) . Badge cost £2.50 of which £2 goes to help the zoo. Can be done over a period of time in sections. 

Olivia’s Big Trunk Trail – Free to do. Is done remote . Badge cost £2.60 with £2 of this going to help Keech Hospice. Can be done over a period of time. 

Add to this, you can have a visit from Olivia. The ask is for a donation of £30 for the visit, all of which goes to help the Hospice. 

Archery – Cost £15 for the unit session. Can take place at a suitable site around the county. Sucker Archery can come to your unit meeting place. For more details or to book, Contact archery@bedsguiding.org.uk  

Climbing Club – Runs one evening a month, from 7 to 8.30pm at Big Rock, Kingston, Milton Keynes. Nights of the week are varied to open the club to more units. Cost £13.50. For more details or to book, Contact climbing@bedsguiding.org.uk  

Forest Fest – This will run from 28th July to 2nd August and is a wonderful UK International experience, for girls aged 12 and up. The cost to include camping, food, activities and transport is £240 per girl. There are also opportunities for leaders, to be involved in this event. See the flyer for full details. 

Also in 2023 –  We will add a new Marston Vale Quest and offer sessions in Axe Throwing. Both these should be available from late Spring. Then there will be our Rainbow day in July. Details out soon. 

Free to Borrow  

The county has glass engraving pens and weaving frames, both of which were big hits at the County Camp in 2022. These are available for units to borrow, free of charge. You just need to arrange collection. Contact Carolyn at events@bedsguiding.org.uk
