Introducing The Hare (and the tortoise) ……

Have you heard of The Short Tail Trail?

Keech Hospice Care is working with Love Luton, and Wild in Art again, introducing two loveable characters set to fill Luton with colour and energy this summer.  There will be 90 beautiful hares and tortoises around Luton’s landmarks, for 10 weeks, between the 6th July and 12th September 2024.

After that time there will be an auction event, to sell off the large sculptures, to raise vital funds for Keech Hospice Care.  The smaller hares and tortoises, decorated by schools and community groups, will be returned to their owners.

One of those smaller hare sculptures will be decorated by members of Girlguiding Bedfordshire (Schools and Community Groups – Short Tail Trail).  If you are an artist or creative who’d like to #HopOnBoard and be a part of this project, please get in touch with us at mc@bedsguiding.org.uk .  And if you run a unit, please look out for details of how you and your young members can be part of this upcoming event.

Once she is finished and is part of the trail, of course it would be great if you could visit her in Luton.  But we will also have a badge and a Challenge Pack for units to get involved and have fun with.  This is how we will raise the funds to pay for our sculpture, so please do plan to support us and Keech Hospice Care.
