Say Hello and Wave Goodbye – Introducing Emma

I was presented with my lovely thank you gift for doing the role of Marketing & Communications (M&C) Advisor for Girlguiding Bedfordshire county almost a year ago now, at last years Valuing our Volunteers event in Flitwick. So this news has been a while in the making.

But I am really delighted to announce that Emma Simms has now officially taken over from me in this role. We have had a couple of handover meetings. She attended County Exec earlier this month. And last night was the final handover.

We met in a lovely modern hotel in Milton Keynes, called Moxy’s, part of the Marriott chain of hotels. We sat over a drink discussing all things marketing and communication across the county.

Emma is getting setup with access to the tech, so will be getting up to speed over the coming weeks and months. If you email the MC@bedsguiding.org.uk mailbox from now on, you will be communicating with Emma, and not me.

I have loved my role as the M&C Advisor for Bedfordshire. It has given me so many opportunities for training and self-development, for meeting people both within the county, the region and beyond. And I have been involved in and supported many fabulous events.  I think my highlights have to be the vintage camps at Shuttleworth, and of course Olivia and Artemis, our baby elephant and hare, and all the money raised for Keech Hospice. 

I want to wish Emma so much luck with her new role; I know she will make a fantastic replacement as the M&C Advisor for Bedfordshire, and that you will all give her all the support she needs.  Thank you, Jean Weir (outgoing M&C Advisor, Bedfordshire)
